Renting is complicated enough.
The tools shouldn't be.
RentalNoodle started as a simple investor map โ a way to compare rental yields across US markets. Then we kept running into the same problem: every tool in the rental world is built for one audience, one stage, or one side of the lease. Landlords use four apps. Tenants get a clunky portal nobody loves. Investors piece together data from three sources.
So we built a shared hub. One place for renters, owners, property managers, and investors โ covering the whole rental lifecycle, from finding a home to filing your taxes.
What we noticed about the market
Every platform picks a side
Finance tools ignore operations. Operations tools ignore finance. Tenant portals are bolted on as afterthoughts. Investor tools have no connection to actual property data. Nobody integrates the whole picture.
Renters are treated like a transaction, not a user
When was the last time a rental platform made a renter feel welcome? Tenants pay $35โ50 to apply for every property they want โ the same screening report, over and over. Their rental history disappears when they move. Nobody carries their track record forward.
Per-unit pricing punishes growth
Several popular platforms charge per unit per month. A landlord who grows from 2 to 10 properties gets punished with a 5x price increase. We charge flat fees. Your success shouldn't cost us more to support.
Tax time is a nightmare for landlords
Most landlords still use spreadsheets, shoeboxes of receipts, and a panicked call to their CPA in March. Tax-category expense tracking and Schedule E exports should be automatic โ not a separate $28/month product.
What we believe
Both sides matter
Most rental tools are built for landlords and treat tenants as a transaction. We build for both. Tenants are real users with real needs โ finding a home, building a rental history, getting maintenance done. RentalNoodle works for both sides of every lease.
Free means free
We offer a free tier that's genuinely useful, not a crippled demo. A landlord with one property and their tenants should never need to pay us. We earn revenue from users who need more โ not by trapping everyone behind a paywall.
Useful data, honest disclaimers
Our investor map and financial tools show real data โ rental estimates, yield, P&L summaries. We're also honest that estimates are estimates. We'll never dress up a heuristic as a guarantee. Reports come with clear disclaimers. Use the tools, verify the numbers.
Practical over flashy
The rental lifecycle has real friction: paperwork, deposit disputes, maintenance chaos, tax-time panic. We build tools that solve those specific problems. We don't add features to look impressive โ we add features because landlords and tenants have a real need.
Where we are
Started as a rental investor map โ a research tool for comparing sale prices and rental yield across US markets.
Expanded into RentalNoodle: a full rental platform for renters, owners, property managers, and investors. The investor map stayed as one feature inside a larger product.
Building the core platform. The investor map is live. Property management, tenant portal, and financials are in active development.
Full listing search, rent collection, lease signing, move-in/out documentation, and tax reports. Everything connected. Everything in one place.
We're just getting started
The investor map is live. Property management, financials, and the tenant portal are coming fast. Come build with us.
