Frequently asked questions

Is the free plan really free forever?

Yes. The free plan is not a trial β€” it's a permanent tier for landlords with one property and for all tenants. You'll never be charged without upgrading yourself.

Do you charge per unit?

No. Landlord Pro and Investor are flat monthly fees regardless of how many properties or units you manage. Per-unit pricing punishes growth β€” we don't do that.

Is RentalNoodle free for tenants?

Always. Tenants never pay a subscription. The only optional tenant charges are: screening reports (~$35, applicant-pays) and rent credit reporting ($3/month opt-in, builds your credit score from on-time payments).

What does rent collection cost?

ACH bank transfers are free on all plans. Credit and debit card payments carry a 2.9% + $0.30 processing fee passed to the payer. No hidden platform fees on top.

What happens if I cancel?

Cancel anytime. Your data stays accessible on the Free tier. You'll keep your property history and documents β€” you just won't be able to create new listings or use Pro features.

How does tenant screening work?

Reports include credit, criminal, and eviction history via TransUnion. On Free, the applicant pays (~$35). On Landlord Pro and above, you can choose to pay or accept the applicant's existing RentalNoodle renter profile report.

Can a property manager use RentalNoodle on behalf of an owner?

Yes. The Property Manager plan supports multi-owner portfolios with owner portals, PM-specific reporting, and expense approval workflows. The Investor plan also includes a PM–owner collaboration workspace for simpler setups.
